Are you an experienced Linux and Applications Administrator, then we have an interesting job role in Amsterdam 


Maintaining and supporting 200+ Red Hat Linux and +/- 15 IBM AIX systems

  • Managing, maintaining and monitoring Red Hat Linux systems (Physical and Virtual), ESX systems and IBM AIX UNIX systems (LPARs running on IBM Power platform)
  • Providing day to day support to colleagues and the Operational departments including working shifted hours between 8am - 6pm
  • Providing the business with information on uptimes, performance, incidents and planned changes
  • Interfacing with external suppliers in case of incidents, problems or changes to maintain and support the servers and applications
  • Defining and expanding operational procedures for system management and support, based on ITIL principles

Install, configure, maintain and (technically) support the Infrastructure 

  • Operating Systems (Red Hat Enterprise, IBM AIX)
  • Application release deployments
  • Add new functionality requested by customers and business 
  • Expand and improve monitoring and automated processes to minimize risks and reduce manual interventions during normal operation and batches outside office hours
  • Centralized management of Linux distributions and patch levels using Red Hat Satellite
  • Improve security by centralizing logging
  • Further implement centralized configuration management using SaltStack
  • Further implement centralized job scheduling using Cronacle

It would be highly preferable if you are also experienced in:

  • Infrastructure monitoring ( Nagios )
  • Storage technology ( IBM V7000 ) 
  •  Software deployment ( Jenkins )
  • Managing and maintaining SWIFT configurations
  • MQseries
  • Veeam

Knowledge and education

  • Solid RedHat Enterprise Linux background and experience
  • Experienced with maintaining Kubernetes, Kafka and ELK stack
  • Well-developed scripting skills in shell
  • Well experienced in the English language, both verbally and in writing
  •  Maintaining VMware cluster
  • Setup and maintenance of monitoring using Nagios
  • Built automated configuration management , preferably SaltStack
  • Basic knowledge of DB administration [MySQL Cluster, Oracle, PostgreSQL]
  • AIX
